Well dammit! I pulled the electrical block (I don't know the real name) hoping it would be that. But it looks too clean to be causing any problems, it actually looks new. Already checked the connector that hooks up to the firewall.......and it's connected and looks fine as well. Any other ideas on what it could be? All the electrical system is dead.

That is a voltage regulator. sounds like your have no power. do you have a voltage light. you hook it up to ground and the other end goes where you should have power. if so the light will come on. but just because the voltage regulator looks new doesn't mean the points inside are stuck from age. I hate electrical it can be the simplest thing to being a major headache finding the problem. could also be your ignition switch. try by passing it and see what happens. couple ideas i am sure there will be other with ideas to. good luck.

Sounds like your flux capacitor stopped fluxxing. I used to have that problem with mine and it turned out that the wiring harness would get tangled with the steering column when I would turn and I would lose all power. If you checked it and it looks good, follow each wire all the way to make sure they are not torn or chewed by rats. Do the same under the dash from where the wire harness connects on the inside and follow the wires from the battery to the harness. Also, disconnect the harness to make sure all connectors are intact and not rusted. If everything seems to be in check, it may be loss of your main ground. This was my own experience, hope it helps

Take it off and get a one wire alternator, I think 79 chevy and up must have a builtin voltage regulator also check the connection on your firewall make sure its making contact.

The firewall is connected I've double checked it......and it just occurred to me that it doesn't have the old points style distributor and the alternator looks newer too. X2 ON THE ONE WIRE ALTERNATOR, I DID THAT TO MINE. HOPE YOU GET IT FIXED WEY. Thanks Edgar, ojala que si
