as a kid i would work on my grandparents lot on rachito street. it use to be quite, but now houses are being built left and right, once in a while i'll pass by for memories sake. it was a empty lot but the city of McAllen made my grandparents an offer they could'nt refuse so they sold it. I went to high school with some brothers from there i think there names were cesar and julio i think that were their names but any ways they had a white 4-door belair/impala 60 white with engraved windows, they themselves engraved. they use to take it to memorial high school.

oh, then that's on the south east side, i was thinking the south west well actually this is crazy even though this was macallen we went to pharr schools I'm not sure if they still do it like that, I'm not sure if we are all talking about the same place but if you take jackson road which is the road that seperates Pharr and Macallen going south till you pass richmond the next street should be Ranchito Rd then you turn right and its going to be the next little barrio there was not to many houses back then but we were quit a few kids back then. So is that the south east side if you keep going up on ranchito u will hit the airport and the the swimming pool I think it was called cascade.........I'm not sure if I remember a cesar or julio but I remember where everyone lived if were in the same place and what years was it when your granparants lived there and do you remember the exact location?

Simon, that area is known as El Ranchito.. I believe just west from there by 1st street it was known as La Pompa due to the city's water district being there..Andy, next time you pass by there drive off 2nd street onto El Rancho Rd. and the first street is known as Scenic Way then the next street is 1st St. Trip out with the houses on Scenic Way then the ones on 1st St. Like two different worlds..
