Why do you think, the lowrider movement has weakend so much in the RGV?? Do you think its because most everyone are just trend/fad folllowers? OR do we need to step it up a notch and start hitting cruise nights HARD, I'm talking get all of us together, and make our presence known? Popping threes, and clowning bagged (I'm aware there are some badass ones out there) ride up and down the whole strip? This just came to mind. Because a while back my little cousin found an old LRM in his house and showed it to me. Those times were off the hook for the Valley!!! If I'm not mistaken there was actually a LRM Tour stop in here (think it was Mercedes), and there was a ton of hooked up rides. What happened

yep there was a lrm stop here, but it has died down not to many car shows or they are more towards whats in now, also the community doesnt help out to much, like where to make a decent car show, its all about the money now its hard to make a decent show and not charge to much, but it would be a good idea to hit the strip all the hang outs in the valley but we all got to stick together but we will be ok as long as theres people like us we can keep it alive. ;D

Yeah, eso es. Everything is about making a buck now. I feel ya on the trying to throw a decent sized show for cheap, its damn near impossible. Maybe just get unity between all the riders out there will go a long ways, like throw a pic-nic in a park or something where we won't get charged. All we would have to do is pay a little bit of money each to throw a nice, calm BBQ That would be the shit!

Yeah, esa es la cosa I got all excited there for a sec. Well, I think this site needs to grow a bit more, then when we have quite a few members, we might be able to pull it off! Maybe do some events. Like a BBQ once a year, or maybe a cruise invasion. Don't know how that would work out though (the cruise), do you think we'll catch a lot of heat from the cops?

if people are shitting the stick yeah well catch heat but if everyone is calm it shouldnt be a problem several cops already told us but people go crazy sometimes and ruin it for all of us

Do cops get you for hitting a switch on cruise night over there? it depends if they want to be assholes about it, for example that night we hopped against the 61 u saw how the headlight busted well i drove to 2 different locations both full of cops and no one said anything plus i had all 4 of the tv's on the truck, and last time when i was leaving i started to hit the switches with the lincoln again with both tv's on, in front of the cops and they didnt say anything but if they wanna be assholes they will

I've hit a switch infront of a cop two times accidentally, remember my car slowly lowers in the front. So I have to hit a switch to keep it level. I know that atleast one of the times the cop was looking directly at me, it was night, so he saw me because the headlights pop up pretty obvious. He didn't do anything, think I might have lucked out though. I've seen almost all of the bagged trucks around here pulled over, but don't know if they were acting like dumbasses or not, so I can't say they were pulled over for that.

Yeah, I remember the first time I hit a switch at high speeds. I was rolling inches of the ground going about 65. Then as I was getting closer to where I needed to turn, I raised the car because the roads are crap. I locked the rear, then hit the switch for the front ........ and BAM! Airtime! Don't think I jumped too high, but I wasn't expecting it, so it scared me shitless ;D

When my cousin-in-law from Houston came down here and helped me fix my car. He opened up the check valves for me. I don't know if that was a good idea though. Its very hard to keep from jumping (chipping for me). Pero le tengo que dar calmado, no reinforcements at all and hopping, probably isn't going to end up in anything good. I think I'm going to close them a bit again, para darle calmado. Here is my cousin's car incase anyone is wondering ;D

The Lowrider Movement hit real hard back in 94-96.....back then it was tight
Cruisin 10th st on Saturday nights...then hittin Anzaldua's Sunday afternoon, then Westside Park after that.
However it has died down alot due to trend setters, at least in my opinion. Alot of so-called die hard Lowriders traded their 13's for 18's (at that time) and so on and so on.
Alot of the people I know now are still the same people who were lowriding back then. Now youngsters are brainwashed into wanting the "Baller" lifestyle and lowriding dosent fit into that persona.
I even logged into my comp just to reply to this topic haha ;D
