Hello everyone. My name is Marisol and I'm a student at South
Texas College majoring in Social Work. I'm trying to start a
community based association in my local South Side Mcallen
neighborhood, in which I was born and raised.Ive been volunteering
in a grassroots organization to get some experience and this
organization is trying to get enough petitions to the City of McAllen
to get McAllen Botanical Gardens open. I know some of you might be
familiar with it, knowing it is right beside our Querido, West Side
Parke!I went to a city commission meeting the other day to speak in
behalf of my South Side Neighborhoods and how it would benefit all
the RAZA in opening the nature trails and park located at McAllen
Botanical Gardens.Yo soy del Barrio , fui nacida y creada aqui entre
la gente del valle..and now IM raising my own children here too. The
Valley is a beautiful place to live and be a part of.The reason Im
posting here is because I'm going to be at the Palm Fest tomorrow,
at the McAllen Convention Center trying to get as many signatures
for the petition as possible. If anyone here is interested and you
see us out there please support us by lending us your
signature. The organization I volunteer for and myself attended
several city hall and city commission meetings to try and avoid The City of McAllen
from Selling WEST SIDE Park! We want to keep our parke open for
all the people of our community and also would like to see the
Botanical Gardens open. If anyone would like to help out with the
petition drive, please contact me Marisol Rincon at 1-956-212-3964.
Heres an article about the sale and election that took place on the

I also wanted to see if we could collaborate to make a "CRUISE for a CAUSE" petition drive by at WEST SIDE..If any car club is interested please let me know.
If you have any questions or concerns let me know! And I'm looking forward to being apart of this forum community.
