Whats up Valle! Its good to see a site like this covering the local sceen. I just picked up a 1986 Monte Carlo LS and hope to have it rolling in the next few months. If I loaded the pics right, then below are some throw back pics of my jefe's 75 olds from Lowrider Magazine August 1980. The photo was shot in front of Boccaccio's back in the day. This articale means alot to me cause I feel like my dads ride was one of the first cars from the valley in Lowrider Magazine and the picture was in color. If anyone remembers where Boccaccio's was at let me know. I want to take pictures of my monte there. Thanks and I'll see you around.

Welcome to the site and way to make an entrance homie! Badass article! Real nice read, they don't make the magazine like that anymore. I like the glass house and your pop's Olds. Good luck on the build and be sure to do a build up thread, everybody loves a build up thread ;D

Thanks for the welcome. I'd love to do a build thread. I know a little about this and that so I can write an informative piece. I have a car audio back ground and I'm a hard to find parts junkie. The monte I got has a suicide hood, shaved door handles, and a panel paint job. I just got a 2 pump setup with 8's in front and 10's out back that I still need to install. I plan on doing a TBI 350 swap to replace the TBI 4.3 v6. I'll log every thing and post it up. As for Boccaccios I heard the same thing about the devil. I know its gone but I still wanna take the pic where my dads car was. I'll be around if u guys have something you need found. Later.

welcome, it's too bad they don't take the valley in consideration anymore, but that's why we need to start taking our rides to shows out of the valley, let them see we can ride with the best of them!!

i found out where boccaccios was. it is next door to the blue shell on the south side of it near the intersection of 10th and nolana. the lot as of last year was empty with just the foundation left. i confirmed with county records that there is nothing built on the property. its kind of strange that after 30 years the lot is just empty considering its right in the middle of mcallen and on 10th. The land is own by an asian guy named Lin Ming Shen and is worth about $450,000. I read this article that came out in the monitor last year and featured the DJ from boccaccios named danny nava aka dj bonedaddy. he talks about what happened that night the devil danced at the club. here's the link www.themonitor.com/articles/night-32149-boccaccio-devil.html
