Got the front clip off with help from my brother. Hopefully I'll have enough time during the week to pull the motor and transmission. Also need to start planning out the fuel & exhaust next.

Well the engine is out already. Just finishing planning up the fuel system (still undecided wether an inline or in-tank pump) I'm leaning towards and inline since I've been throwing the idea of slapping a turbo down the road and it's easier to swap out for a higher flowing one down the road. Also picked up the cab band and corners and a steering wheel a while back in Austin:

Picked up some more goodies for the truck ;D Transmission X-Member: High flowing fuel pump and corvette filter: 16 gallon fuel cell with a little sump to make sure the pump never runs dry, also has foam inserts to keep the gas from splashing around during cornering. Fittings, fuel cell mounting brackets, gas filter, throttle body cable, stainless steel braided hose.

Well since the truck was originally a straight 6, the motor brackets don't work. I ordered some brackets that were supposed to work with the truck.........and they didn't. Too narrow and not deep enough. Hit up every parts store in Starr County and they're not even made by anyone. Had to hit the damn junkyards and ended up scoring some off a vortec 350:

Estaban esta el culo de grasa, I had NEVER seen anything spew out so much oil and grime. This thing was baked on hardcore, sprayed the shit out of it with engine degreaser and that didn't do hardly shit except waste my time. Tried Awesome and that worked a little better but still not anywhere near good enough, sprayed it with oven cleaner and that was the one that worked the best.......and still didn't take it all off and that's with me using a wire brush. So I got an old drill and a wire wheel and knocked the rest of the crap off: Got a little too excited and jumped the gun and gave them a few coats of paint: Should have test fitted them first, because that buldge they have doesn't allow them to sit flush with the adapter. At this time I realized I didn't want to use the big hammer modification, and also gave me a good enough excuse for Power Tools!! ;D

Picked up these suckers at Lowe's after shopping around for the best prices. I'm sure there's better deals out there, but meh. Fui a comer unos tacos en Miguel Aleman, y estan regalando weldiadoras con la compra de dos ordenes!!
