Alright here we go again. I gave up (for the meantime) on Penny and picked up this 78 a couple of months back. Now this won't be a lowrider, but I really don't hang out with the truck guys so I'll do my build thread here 78 Custom Deluxe Stepside : 250 Straight 6/3 spd Manual Pretty much a rock bottom base truck, with only A/C and PS Chuco Approved

It's still in the planning stages but if there's something that I love close to 58 Impala's it's square bodies. It's gonna get a little crazy, got a couple of things planned for it, but I'm gonna try to keep it subdued.
Plans so far: - Upgrade to 20" billets
- Going to redo the rear and mimic the 67-72 chevy trailing arm type suspension.
- Low back bucket seats (Let me know if you have leads on any)
- Disk brakes all around
- Air bags but will NOT lay
Got a couple other tricks, but don't want to let the cat out the bag yet.
Undecided: - Fuel Injection or Carb - Color - Transmission

Thanks homie, I know this isn't everybody's cup of tea.......but fuck it, here's some updates anyway: It's still in the planning stages but if there's something that I love close to 58 Impala's it's square bodies. It's gonna get a little crazy, got a couple of things planned for it, but I'm gonna try to keep it subdued.

- Disk brakes all around
- Air bags but will NOT lay
Got a couple other tricks, but don't want to let the cat out the bag yet.
Undecided: - Fuel Injection or Carb - Color - Transmission (4L60E) Picked up some bucket seats for it, I liked them because they're the current color of the truck so I can hold out on having them reupholstered for a while. Had a plan for using the 73-80 blazer center console with the round cup holders, but it looks like I'm taking a different route ;D Also got this in the mail earlier this week: It's a fuel injection harness made for the truck by Speartech, I've heard nothing but great things from them. We'll see but they were right on with the estimated time.

Now since the engine is from an '04 Hummer it has that electronic throttle body bullshit I don't like I can feel slower reaction time for the engine to respond compared to the old cable style TBs.
I have already picked up a pre '04 computer and the wiring was built for this computer. Now I just need to swap out the throttle body itself.
Also trying to pick up some LS1 style engine mounts for the engine, but most I have seen are adapter plates meaning they slap on to the old Small Block Chevy mounts. Since this truck is an inline six, that's not gonna work.

I'll probably be ordering a transmission cross member this week and picking up an engine hoist next weekend. Hope to get it moving pretty quick afterwards.
Also looking for some mint 15x7 or 8 cragar star wire (30 spokes) on a 5x5 bolt pattern. If anybody knows of any let me know.
