I noticed some rust particles on my gas tank.
Any advice on how to clean the inside of it and restore it.
I saw it once in an old LRM but gotta go to the attic to find it.

the best thig to do is to take your gas out and drop the gas tank and clean it outside rust is hard to take out.

I think there's like a white liquid that you empty out the tank and then add that in there. Forms like a top coat so you won't get that corroding material shit in your gas.
Think I saw it on Eastwood, I'll check in a min.

there is a green liquid called OSPHO you can buy it at home depot............. with the tank off pour OSPHO into tank and swish around ...this will clean out the tank and kill all the rust ........this will turn the metal white try to clean off as much as possible and your done
for small holes in the tank that need patching a simple way to plug them without taking off the tank is to rub a bar of soap into the leaking spot....this will plug the hole for a long time........ZEST soap has been known to last 5 years without problems

FLEET48 TOLD ME TO PUT A CHAIN IN THE TANK WHILE YOUR SWISHING THE TANK THIS WILL HELP LOOSEN ANY PARTICLES IN THE TANK AND WILL BE EASY TO REMOVE WHEN YOUR DONE
THATS ALL I KNOW ABOUT....MAYME BY TRING SOME OTHER STRONGER ACID IT MIGHT WORK BETTER BUT BE CAREFUL TOO STRONG AND IT WILL EAT A HOLE THROUGH THE TANK
