I think it's a multitude of things:
1. Full chassis, 2dr, CLEAN traditional low riders are getting MUCH harder (and $$) to find.
2.Tires have gotten less available and more expensive.
3. Lowride-able cars are terrible gas guzzlers, and we make it worse by adding weight and small tires.
This all adds to making low riders not very practical as daily drivers, which means most low riders TODAY are mostly everybody's second car.
In short it's difficult to get started.
BUT
These are all things that are out of our control, so let's focus on what we do have control of.

Take a cruise out right now and count how many performance trucks you see and how many low riders you see. It's not even going to be a fair comparison.
Count classic trucks vs low riders and we are still going to lose.
Bottom line, we are not making ourselves available to the upcoming generations. It's so much easier to jump into a truck than a lowrider, and atop of that we are not even giving new generations a reason to want to get into a lowrider in the first place.
Young generations want to go out, cruise and interact - We offer a car show where you're pinned down and pimped out for the whole day for the personal gain of somebody else (and not even a damn tree to hide under)
*** Worse yet we offer two shows on the same day and our already small group is broken in half and we look weaker still.

Before people heard about a cruise spot and showed up out of curiosity but they were present, now.....people can do all sorts of things online. Social networking? There is nothing social or personal interaction behind a computer. Thoughts?

Our attitude as a whole is FUCKED!
Real lowriders have Daytons or Zeniths/ China's suck
Go to any other car/truck discipline and everybody likes Billet wheels but nobody gives you shit for cruising a cheap, chrome set.
Hydraulics are the shit/ and bags are for fags
Compare the cost again, and we're asking a high school kid to spend 3x as much just because we saw it on Truucha.
You need to know how to weld and have an arsenal of tools for hydraulics, air bags are much easier to install and maintain.
========================= Our style is our style, but why the hell are we shoving it down everybody's throat?

Times are different, people are different.
Which is why I always say, if we can't make it work, there is nobody you can blame but the man in the mirror. The opportunity is there for all.
What do WE do?

This site was not intended to keep e-riders entertained, it was meant to help organize lowriding on the streets! And it has to a point

Its true, what u sayin , Its hard lowriding, It aint easy, if it was easy, everyone would do it, and the few people who do do it, end up quiting, Even guys from our own lowriding community talk down on you just because u dont build your own car. But i stuck with because i love seeing my car in the air, since i was 15 their were times when i wanted to quit, and i can see why some people lowride for a while and then they stop, because it is hard... i had to learn the hard way, no one was around to help me, U can ask anyone that knows me, Iam always extending my hand out to help for free, cause i know how hard it was building a hopper at a young age. Now iam 27 and iam proud to say ive been lowriding for over 10 years. This LS that iam building , never ever had 13's on it before and my plan is to be my best build than any other car ive owned. "I live to lowride and lowriding lives with me" one of the best lowriding quotes in my opinion.

Hey chekenle Homies first of if you all are gonna worry about gas and tires your in it for the wrong reason If you all love lowriding so much all this pointing out shit is a waist of time. This what i think if you want something so bad.. then go out there and do it or take it. you all want reminise on back in the day " lets dance" i member when 10st was the shit everyone cruising chilling and having a good time but what happens some ppl want to mak an impression with their homies and pick fights because the got back up y sopas shut it down. i remember 23rd street scrappin bad ass what happen another homie doing the same shit and picking fights because he got back up...I remember Anzalduas that was the shit back in the day every one cooking out crusing chilling with familia... oh look whos coming that same pinche chavala that picks fights because he got back up.. West side park in Mcallen same shit we cruising and chilling who drives in that same punk picking fights but this time he has a truck and starts peeling and burning rubber throwng rock to our rides.... I guess you all can see what im saying that we can go anywhere you want and hang out wherever but there will always be some fucking it up for all of us. And the reason we are the first one to get thrown out when 5.0 arrives is because Lowriders have a bad rep.. we are the cagaleros and marijuanos y fight pickers in their eyes. The pinches wercos de Papi they got new trucks so 5.0 thinks they actually work and are going to school. But enough of that I say we got to go back to basics start back in Anzaldua where everything was cool and everyone chilling with familia and camaradas.... and as soon we see the first chavala starting something get his ass thrown out by 5.0 or park rangers or get with the Prez from that club and have him either calmalo or send him home... but befor i need a hook up with a inspection sticker under water ya sabes so i can go..let me know what you all think...GRZMKY

This is all beautiful preaching, but we're preaching to the choir.... Talking about dedication and love.... pero ya estamos adentro nosotros. The question is what's missing. The answer is numbers, we're at a fraction of what it used to be from what I've heard. So, what are we doing to get the numbers up? Ay chingo de cora cuando habla uno con la gente en persona o aquí. Todos bien puestos pa ir a un carshow o un picnic, envitalos a tirar un cruise y tiran pedo padentro la mitad. Ese jale no pasa. ---------------------------- To be honest with you Jay, idk what we ELSE we can do. I do love the big cruises that the Council has organized. It puts lowriders out there in the face of the public, we have fun as hell, and hopefully we get a kid or two hooked on this shit or remind a vato why he used to be interested back in the 90's. This is still my favorite video because it's 100% street. I have to see this for at least an hour and a half just to get to a cruise, and I used to drive my old Cadillac all the way to Brownsville from Roma. Y ay vatos que no pueden sacar el carro a jugar two cities away from theirs?!

The good thing is that we have a good time regardless of the turn out, we understand that not everyone's going to be happy, taking a cruise to Harlingen may be out of the way for our Bros in the upper valley, and vise versa. Lowriding seems to be on ICU, and it has to be willing to live from within in order for us to survive.
We will keep on moving on regardless, and if there are any fresh ideas well don't be shy, at least you tried!
Success is trying knowing you could fail, failure is not trying at all!
Yes I purchased the application, pretty cool!

maybe i'm missing the point, but all i see is people complaining about us not going out as a group and not showing up in numbers. they way i see it is if you are a true lowrider like we all claim to be on here, why do we need a group to enjoy our rides? to me a true rider doesnt need a group. a tru rider can go to the park on their own or enjoy their car for themselves. i see classic cars or hot rods on the weekends driving around alone, they dont need a caravan for people to check them out. they are simply enjoying their labor of love for themselves. i am guilty of not taking my car out every weekend or going to all the cruises with everyone. its not because i am less proud of my car or because im afraid of pumping gas or buying tires. responsibility has me on a time schedule that doesnt allow me to enjoy my car as much as i would like too. i work all day, get home around 7 only to spend a couple of hours with my kids before its bedtime. on saturday i have to do yard work and run all the errands i couldnt run during the week. by the time sunday comes around, its either go to the park or bbq with the family then get ready for another week. you talk about the good old days, but thats the past. in the good old days, i didnt have a mortgage, didnt work 50 hours a week and didnt have kids to look after. but when time allows, i do take my car out, and i will continue to do so for years to come.
