maybe i'm missing the point, but all i see is people complaining about us not going out as a group and not showing up in numbers. they way i see it is if you are a true lowrider like we all claim to be on here, why do we need a group to enjoy our rides? to me a true rider doesnt need a group. a tru rider can go to the park on their own or enjoy their car for themselves. i see classic cars or hot rods on the weekends driving around alone, they dont need a caravan for people to check them out. they are simply enjoying their labor of love for themselves. i am guilty of not taking my car out every weekend or going to all the cruises with everyone. its not because i am less proud of my car or because im afraid of pumping gas or buying tires. responsibility has me on a time schedule that doesnt allow me to enjoy my car as much as i would like too. i work all day, get home around 7 only to spend a couple of hours with my kids before its bedtime. on saturday i have to do yard work and run all the errands i couldnt run during the week. by the time sunday comes around, its either go to the park or bbq with the family then get ready for another week. you talk about the good old days, but thats the past. in the good old days, i didnt have a mortgage, didnt work 50 hours a week and didnt have kids to look after. but when time allows, i do take my car out, and i will continue to do so for years to come.
Well said Gabriel, my viejo is debating whether to get a diffrent job cause hes always away from home, from family and of course his rides. He says hes getting old and not even able to ride the low lows as much as he wants to and when he is home he drives his car with lots of pride and rather go to the store in the lowlows than the regular car, he is a true lowrider just that now he just has to do for our family, first like you said before anyone had family there was nothing in the way to cruise or invest on the rides. But in the end its up you if you want to cruise no one needs anyone to cruise the streets but its nice to see a caravan of lowriders cruising the street and having peoples heads turn around giving us the thumps up. In the end we all love the game of lowridin we just need to come out a little more and represent the game, no matter what kind of ride anyone has we are all in it for the same thing.
